------------------------- As I walked out of a client session today, I felt so... inspired. I told him "congratulationss." For showing up, for asking for what he wanted, for being vulnerable, for exploring some of his inner world, for voicing his desires, and for really going for it.. His response: "You make this easy." And it hit me. Sometimes it is hard to explain exactly WHAT I do. But this.. this is a huge part of it. I create a place for people to practice these things that can be so triggering, scary, and uncomfortable for people in real life. I give them a soft place to land and to practice. Knowing what the physical container is, of "these are the boundaries." And not only getting those physical needs met, but on top of that, having a playground and a safe place to Explore Desire, Explore Navigation, Explore Emotion, Explore Receiving a No... All of this in a space of love and compassion and real love and desire for them to BE more of them. And on one hand, it makes me feel so grateful, Like, Wow. People are going to go out into the world and create places like these in their lives and the lives of people around them. And on the other hand, it inspires ME too. Like, Look at these people being so fricken BRAVE with me. If they can do it, I can keep doing it too. And for moments when we (both my clients and myself) are practicing this stuff IRL and the world is not so kind and loving, that we can remember these sessions and remember the love and compassion and ease that I offer, and give that to ourselves. So that I/them/we can all have more freedom in our lives. To be me/us/them. And if I can give that gift through my session work, to them, and also practice it myself, then that is just really.. beautiful. #LifeofaConsciousIntimacyPractitioner Photo by Chelsea Smarr, with my amazing dancer friend.
